RIPP

Make long Codex work easier to steer.

A resource-aware runtime for technical agents. Give a task a clear finish line, use Jev for bounded judgments, let Codex do the open-ended work, and keep the evidence needed to recover.

LIVE WORKFLOW / 01

CHARTER → EXPAND → JUDGE

ACT → OBSERVE → RECORD

A bounded task. A visible decision trail. A deliberate stop point.

WHY IT EXISTS

A long task needs a finish line.

A repository repair can grow beyond its first prompt. Relevant context gets buried; the same questions return; extra work becomes hard to justify. RIPP gives the run an endpoint, acceptance checks, scope, a resource envelope, and an authority boundary.

The runtime separates proposing, judging, and checking. It keeps an addressable Decision Record so a future step can recover the evidence behind a choice.

THE RUNTIME

Three jobs. One accountable loop.

01 / EXPAND

Codex proposes and acts

Explore candidate approaches, write code, and synthesize an answer when the task needs flexible reasoning.

02 / DISCRIMINATE

Jev judges supplied options

Compare a bounded set of options or evidence. System 1 does not invent the candidate space or override the user.

03 / VERIFY

Tools check reality

Files, tests, and validators establish what happened. RIPP records the result and can bypass itself when orchestration adds no value.

EARLY SIGNAL / ONE PAIRED FIXTURE

3 / 3 tests in both arms.

~23.7% less wall time

In one frozen slug fixture, both raw Codex and the provisional RIPP arm passed all three tests. The provisional RIPP arm took 38.71 seconds versus 50.70 seconds for raw Codex.

The Jev checkpoint was injected into the prompt because nested MCP registration was unavailable. Codex API cost was not reported. This is a candidate signal from one run, not a general savings claim.

PROJECT INDEX / 001–003

From agent runtimes to everyday tools.

RIPP leads the work on long Codex tasks. LATERAL_ explores a phone-controlled workspace for glasses. My Omalauncher widgets put markets, reading, the night sky, and Codex quota on the home screen.
