DANE.BAR / PROJECT INDEX

Projects

Tools and experiments, shown with their current stage and the evidence behind them. RIPP is the first entry; this shelf is designed to grow.

001 / FEATURED

RIPP

A resource-aware runtime that coordinates Codex, Jev, and deterministic tools so long technical tasks keep a clear endpoint and recoverable evidence.

Experimental local alpha · Codex plugin is the intended product path

002 / EXPERIMENTAL ANDROID WORKSPACE

LATERAL_

A phone-controlled workspace for VITURE Beast glasses. PhoneUI handles touch, navigation, and input while BeastUI presents Android tasks in an ordered horizontal strip.

Experimental · Nubia NX789J / Android 15 / VITURE Beast · other setups untested

LATERAL_ BeastUI with Termux, Chrome, and Android Settings in separate task cards.
BeastUI development capture from the Android emulator.

003 / OMALAUNCHER WIDGETS / IN THE COMMUNITY STORE

Small tiles. Real tools.

Four widgets I built for Omalauncher: keep an eye on markets, read a book, explore the sky, and check Codex quota without leaving the home screen.

Built in OWL for Simon Schubert’s Omalauncher. All four are in the upstream community collection under cbarland and carry an MIT license.

01 / MARKETS

Asset Ticker

Asset Ticker showing an editable watchlist of stocks, an ETF, Bitcoin, a currency pair, and gold futures.
Community-store preview · tap image for full size

A watchlist that stays on the home screen.

Search for stocks, ETFs, crypto, currencies, indices, and futures; keep up to 12 symbols together. Tap an asset for a chart, with ranges from one day to five years.

Yahoo Finance data may be delayed. Requires Python in Omalauncher’s Linux environment.

02 / READING

Spreedy

Spreedy displaying Alice with a highlighted focus letter, 300 WPM pacing, and reading progress.
Community-store preview · tap image for full size

Read one word at a time, at your own pace.

A fixed focus letter anchors each word as EPUB or text advances. Adjust the pace from 60 to 1,000 words per minute, swipe through the passage, and return to a saved position.

Includes the first chapter of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland for an immediate offline demo. Requires Python.

03 / THE SKY

Astroterm

Astroterm's terminal sky map with labelled stars and planets and north, south, east, and west markers.
Community-store preview · tap image for full size

A little observatory on the home screen.

My OWL wrapper brings Astroterm’s terminal sky map into a live tile. Choose automatic IP-based location or manual coordinates, then tune constellation lines, labels, colors, and time speed.

Automatic location is approximate. Display choices are saved. Requires Astroterm, curl, and bash.

04 / CODING

Codex Quota Compact

Codex Quota Compact showing separate five-hour and weekly remaining-usage bars.
Community-store preview · tap image for full size

Know how much Codex usage is left at a glance.

A compact 2 × 2 tile shows available five-hour and weekly limits, remaining percentages, and reset times. Tap to refresh or jump to the usage page.

Uses an existing ChatGPT login in Codex CLI. It reads quota data without changing or refreshing the stored credentials; unavailable limits are hidden. Requires bash and Python.

TRY THEM

Find cbarland in the widget store.

In Omalauncher, finish the Linux setup, open the widget store, and search for the widget names above. Check the author is cbarland, review the listed commands and packages, then install and place the tile on your home screen.

For Codex Quota Compact, sign in to Codex CLI with ChatGPT first. For Spreedy, try the bundled Alice chapter or load an EPUB or text file by its Linux path.

Images are the upstream store previews. Prices, quota percentages, locations, and reading positions are preview content, not live data from this website.

THE CONTRIBUTION TRAIL

These widgets reached the store through GitHub submissions and maintainer commits. Each card links to the original submission and current source.

I’m also contributing to the launcher itself: a desktop bridge and Android secondary home, work-profile routing hardening, and ando commands and Android storage binds. Those three PRs are open proposals as of October 14, 2026.
